Northern Italy on a whirlwind trip, too fast I say and already wish to return. S had field school in Canova and you won't find it on a map, he was gone a month (my muse was astray, apologies for my absence).
July 18 I flew to Milan and then rode a bus into the Piedmont, foothills of the Alps, monolithic sheer granite peaks jutting up out of the river valleys, and met S at the Domodossola bus station. We stayed in Oira, then Domodossola, Torino, Florence, and left from Milan. Too short a trip.
There is so much to write and not enough time right now, but I'll be back sooner rather than later.
Italy is a dream.
